It seems like around now, I’m pretty much constantly changing my style up, trying to find what’s truly me, but for the most part, I am attached to my bracelets and watches. I’m one of those people who tends to feel a little too naked without my jewelry, and I know there are a fair amount of people with me, right?

So, naturally, when Jord reached out about reviewing one of their watches, I was pumped. I’ve seen these little beauties everywhere, and I was super excited to see if they really stood up to the hype that I had seen surrounding them. I can tend to be a bit of a skeptic, especially when it comes to jewelry or timepieces, because quality is everything and then some.

My Watch – Jord’s Frankie in Zebrawood and Champagne

Jord
She’s seriously a pretty watch.

I received the Frankie style of watch in Zebrawood and Champagne, which is a gorgeous watch that really pairs with just about anything in my closet. The Zebrawood and Champagne option really works well as a neutral, so you are able to easily stack your watch with your bracelets without worrying about them clashing. I like to wear a lot of colors, and this watch pairs really well with them all. I really fetches all the compliments for you.

When you invest in pieces, you want to know that they are going to last. There’s nothing more heartbreaking than falling in love with a piece and then having it break or get worn. When I received my watch, I was more than a little concerned to see how my watch would hold up to my day to day activities. I’m not always the most graceful of beings, so I need a sturdy watch, or disaster will ensue. My watch needs to stick with me through thick and thin.

Jord Review – The Wear Test

During my little wear tests, I found that my Jord watch was lighter than other watches that I have worn, and more comfortable on my wrist. While it does have a larger face, it didn’t feel heavy or cumbersome like some might think, and really was easy to wear all day. Some watches can get uncomfortable after a while, but I didn’t find this to be the case, even with the larger face. A much welcome surprise to me!

Compared to my other watches, I really think that my Jord wooden watch is quickly approaching the favorite spot, just because it’s the most unique piece that I currently have. The neutral tones help me to wear it often, which is another definite plus. I have some funky pieces, but they only can be worn from time to time, but I look forward to wearing my watch more days than not this year!

My watch with some of my favorite bracelets!

New Years Resolutions

New Years Resolutions – My Changes in the New Year

Ah, here we are again. It’s time again for New Years resolutions, something you either are all about, or totally hate. I somehow float between the two camps, because I don’t really look forward to them, but every year they do tend to pop up on the radar. I’m a fan of setting goals and putting them in writing; it tends to make me more accountable. I can go back, check up on things, and measure my progress along the way.

New Years Resolutions – Wellness Goals

I have been working really hard the last few months on my wellness, losing weight and getting more fit, but with the holidays, I took a tiny little break so I could enjoy the food and not worry about not having something to eat at get togethers, because that is really the worst.

  1. Drink more water – This is pretty much a given for me. When I drink more water, I feel better. It really is as simple as that.
  2. Eat clean. I like to focus on eating whole foods as opposed to processed foods, and I feel so much better when I do. I want to make sure that I am filling up on things that are worth it in the New Year!
  3. Try to hit the 10,000 step goal everyday – I won’t try to promise that I’ll be hitting the gym everyday (Cause we all know thats a farce) but I can try my best to get my 10,000 steps daily.

New Years Resolutions – Mental Health Goals

I want this upcoming year to be a great mental health for me, and I want to put myself first!

  1. Learn to say no – This is a BIG one for me. I find myself CONSTANTLY finding myself obligated to say yes to everything, and always working to please other people. This year I want to start to process things to put myself first.
  2. Take time to take care of myself – Again, I need to schedule out time for some self care and make sure that I am getting everything that I need every day. It can be easy to say I don’t have time with school, but I want to make sure that I am doing the best I can for myself.
  3. Realize it’s okay to slow down – Another big one for me. I always tend to want to put myself on the fast track for everything, and I need to be okay with being a beginner and learning first. It’ll help to get rid of a ton of extra stress.

New Years Resolution – Cosplay Goals

This might be a category that not a ton of people have, but I want to hone those skills down as much as possible this year! I’m still very much a beginner, but there is a ton of growth for me this year.

  1. Learn to actually style a wig – Having curls my entire life, I have no idea what to do with straight hair, or how to style hair in general. I have a friend who is incredible, so I’m hoping to take some tips so I can start styling more on my own.
  2. Rely less on store bought cosplay – This is going to take time, and probably more than the entire upcoming year, but I want to incorporate more handmade pieces into cosplay. It’ll take a ton of practice, but I think that it will help to make things more personal.
  3. Build more confidence – This could be a general sort of goal, but I want to feel more confident in cosplay. Again, this will likely take a while, but I think that it’ll be worth it in the end.

What do you have in the works for the next year? Maybe you don’t touch on resolutions at all? Let me know in the comment section!

Much love in the New Year!
November Recap

November Recap – Favorites & Other Cute Stuff

I can barely believe that December is already here, let alone 11 days into the month! Christmas is just two weeks away friends! However, as usual, I have to do my November Recap before I can fully move into this month. There is so much to be thankful for that happened last month!

This post may contain affiliate links. That means, if a purchase is made through one of the links below, I may be compensated. This is at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!

November Recap – Cosmetic Faves

This might seem like a bit of an odd choice, but this has been my go to primer for at least the last two years, so it’s about time that it had it’s little moment to shine. The Nivea Men Post Shave Balm for whatever reason makes for the most incredible primer, and doesn’t leave you feeling really sticky or gross. Plus, to me at least, it smells really fresh and the scent dissipates really quickly. While it doesn’t have that really silicone-esque feel that a lot of primers do, I do think that it does help to make everything dry down a little bit more and help keep everything in place all day.

Not just this brush, but really, the it Cosmetics brushes in general are the best that you can buy, seriously. My mother bought me a few as a Christmas gift back when I was in high school, and they are still some of the best and softest brushes I have ever felt. They can be a little expensive, but think of it as an investment. I haven’t had to repurchase or replace any of them, and like I said, some are probably around 8 years old. They hold up extremely well to washing (I wash my brushes weekly!) and don’t lose shape. Get yourself some and change your life, seriously.

The Just Peachy Mattes palette has pretty much been the only palette in my hands for the last few months. It’s pretty much a dream when it comes to neutral mattes, and I really love Too Faced’s shadows because they are so easy to work with. Plus, its a good everyday palette and I like to travel with it, just because it is smaller and the palette itself is extra sturdy.

Clarisonic systems have been a serious game changer when it comes to skincare. I’ve had a brush since high school, but just replaced it with a new unit, which is amazing! It seriously helps to get all the makeup out of your skin, so that you don’t have any left behind overnight. You can buy attachments to blend out foundations as well, but I can’t speak for those. They are fairly popular though!

November Recap – Shows/Creators I’m Loving

With the colder weather closing in, its been nice to cozy up on the couch and watch some TV shows or catch up on some of my favorite vloggers and their happenings. It’s a nice escape from school work and obligations, thats for sure!

I’ve definitely been on an animated show kick, lots of cartoons and anime. I think its just been a nice escape with all the stresses of school and life currently. Pretty much no shame in my game, I’m just enjoying low stress things right now!

November Favorites

I’ve been on a mecha fantasy kick thanks to a TON of good suggestions for show from friends, and its been awesome. It really helps with the cosplay plans for the upcoming year (Do I even want to think about that?) and Darling in the Franxx is seriously so good.

November favorites

I’m really late to the party, but I binged Neon Genesis Evangelion in a two days flat and full on fell in love with this mess of a show. Cosplay plans are already in the works for the upcoming month, and I am EXCITED. Seriously Excited.

I am also in heaven with all the vlog-mas content thats been coming out over the last week, even though I guess it isn’t *technically* November recap stuff. Kim Dao has been making some amazing videos, you can check out her channel here. It makes for some great content to binge on colder nights!

What are your favorite things for your November recap? Shows? Foods? Shopping?! I need all the help with the holidays coming up, oh my gosh.

Good luck to my college friends on upcoming finals!

XOXO

Influenceher Holiday Essentials

InfluenceHer Holiday Essentials – My Kit Has Arrived!

It’s an exciting day… my InfluenceHer Holiday Essentials Kit arrived in the mail! A big thank you to Her Campus and the InfluenceHer Collective for choosing me to receive this years holiday kit! I am so excited to dig into all the goodies and treats! It is always a blessing to get these little packages in the mail. I received this kit at no cost in order to try out all these fun products!

There was SO much good stuff packed into the package! Seriously, this might have been the best little packages I’ve gotten in a long time. I am really thankful that they were SO generous!

So.. Let’s get to whats inside!

The InfluenceHer Holiday Essentials Kit

So much goodness!

So much packed into one great package! This seasons pack had products from Alba Botanica, the Her Campus shop, Steripod, Luna, Almay, Otterbox and Rent the Runway! I am SO excited to try it all out!

Influenceher Holiday Essentials

Luna bars are one of my FAVORITE snacks when I’m not on Keto! They’re seriously some of the most delicious easy snacks, and a great breakfast on the go. I am in love with the chocolate peppermint stick flavor (I’ve loved this one since my freshman year of college!) and I’m so excited to try out the mint chocolate chip flavor. Yes. Please.

Influenceher Holiday Essentials

These goodies from Steripod are so cute! I needed these for travel and my travel beauty bag, plus the holographic bag they sent the goodies in is perfection! I am so pumped to try these out and report back (probably on my Instagram!).

Influenceher Holiday Essentials

Okay. So the next bunch of products are from Alba Botanica! Let me say this; wow. I am ALREADY in love with the facial cleanser (it smells like dole whips!) and the detox scrub is amazing! I can’t wait to try out everything else too, because I am seriously so impressed. I’m in love.

Almay also sent me this lipstick in the shade Girl Boss! I haven’t had a chance to try this out yet (again, keep an eye on my Instagram!) but the packaging is really cute. I’m always down for a new lipstick formula or shade!

I’m also super excited to try out Rent the Runway! I’m so excited to get some cute looks to wear in New York City after Christmas, so yet again, check instagram! I’ve always been curious, so I’m excited to try them out!

Influenceher Holiday Essentials

I love mugs more than the average person that doesn’t drink coffee. They’re good for holding just about anything and everything you could need, so I was pumped to see that Her Campus sent out a mug from their store! Seriously, it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.

Influenceher Holiday Essentials

The last item in the kit was a phone case from Otterbox! I have been DYING for this little mermaid Disney case, so getting to try it out has been so lovely. There is a fine glitter in the case that adds a nice little bit of shimmer, and like other Otterbox cases, it protects my phone from drops! Love love love!

Again, a big thank you to the InfluenceHer Collective for sending all of these lovely treats my way! I can’t wait to report back on how everything is going!

XOXO
