Asuka Evangelion Cosplay

Asuka – Evangelion Cosplay Update – Ohayocon 2019

Ohayocon is just days away and I’m really starting to get excited for all to come! This will be my second convention and first of the year, and I’ve been counting down the days for over a month now. I’m really excited to get to wear my cosplay of Asuka from Evangelion.

This post will be super brief, as my post from the con will be up shortly, sometime next week! I am just so proud of how it turned out and I am so happy to share it with you all!

Asuka Evangelion Cosplay – The Cosplay Itself

While I didn’t think that this would be a great idea at first, I ended up ordering my cosplay on AliExpress for next to nothing. With shipping, I received my cosplay for about $34. I did have to wait a bit for it to arrive (around a month!) but when it came it was worth it. The quality is great, and I paid next to nothing. I chose this cosplay.

I admittedly was pretty nervous waiting for it to arrive, but as long as you check your dimensions alongside the dimensions online, you should be okay. My cosplay fits perfectly. Woo!

Asuka Evangelion Cosplay – The Wig

If you know me, you’re aware of the fact that I have hair that is pretty much useless for cosplay, because just about no one has curly brown/red hair. So, I’ve got to make friends with wigs to make it through. I was pretty nervous about wigs at first, because I assumed that they are all by and large really expensive, but behold! Amazon has tons of wigs that are really affordable, and still easy to work with. Score!

I used this wig, and added these ponytails to the side to get that extra bit of volume in the ponytails. It’s got a bit of shine, but a little dry shampoo and some love will help it to get through. Plus, having friends that are bomb at styling wigs is definitely a bonus. I’m working on learning how to do it myself, but I’m pretty happy with how its looking so far.

Asuka Evangelion Cosplay – Interface Headset

If you’re working on an Asuka cosplay, you pretty much need the interface headset, or you’re better off just picking someone else. I had a friend print me some on a 3D printer (Thank you!) and spent a fair amount of time sanding them down, painting them, and then attaching them to clips so they can easily be removed and changed around if need be.

Check out my post talking my last convention here, and my last cosplay here!

Keep an eye out for my posts next week about Ohayocon! See you then!
